Visitor regulations

  1. Visiting is only allowed from dawn to dusk.
  2. Sightseeing is only allowed on:
    • the public roads
    • the rivers: Biebrza, Brzozówka, Sidra, Netta, Ełk, Jegrznia, Wissa and the Augustowski Canal, the Woznawiejski Canal, the Rudzki Canal
    • the marked trails and educational paths.
  3. Visitors are obligated to purchase park admission tickets. It is possible at the Biebrza National Park Headquarters, the forester lodges on the park area and from the private services who have granted permission of the BNP Managing Director
  4. Groups of 7 - 25 people are required to visit Park on marked hiking or educational trails with a licensed guide.
  5. Number of visitors in one group – on hiking, educational or kayaking/canoeing trails - cannot exceed 25 people.
  6. For kayaking/canoeing on the distance between Osowiec and Biały Grąd between 1st January and 23rd of June, please obtain a special permit from the Park Manager and valid admission tickets.
  7. Fires are only allowed in specifically marked areas.
  8. Angling is possible only after purchasing an angling license granted by the BNP, which can be found at many shops scattered through out the valley.
  9. Using boat engines are prohibited.
  10. All plants and animals are protected including their habits, be considerate to other living things.
  11. It is forbidden to break the silence on all nature trail, no yelling or hollering.
  12. Mass events requaire a special permit from the Managing Director of the Biebrza N.P
  13. Professional photographing, film production and other art projects made out of the tourist trails could take place only with the permit of the Managing Director of the Biebrza National Park.
  14. Trails could be closed for visitors due to the birds’ nest season, fire precaution or other nature protection goals.
